Scuba Birds are pleased to offer PADI Self-Reliant Diver course on Koh Tao.

It was developed to focus on the need for divers to be more self-sufficient for those occasions when a buddy may not be around, and would be ideally suited to:
— photographers and videographers
— marine biologists
— divemasters and instructors
— divers who travel alone
— divers who are thinking about technical courses

There are few reasons for an experienced diver to take this course:
— ability to dive alone without the need for a buddy.
— further, master your skills to make you a better and more competent diver.
— learn how to react calmly and responsibly in different situations, whether alone or with a partner.

During this course our experienced instructors help student divers to develop the skills, knowledge, and techniques necessary to rely on themselves first, whether or not they are diving with a partner, including:

— the value and application of the buddy system
— the philosophy of, and motivation for diving without a partner
— potential risks of diving alone, and how to manage those risks
— the value of equipment redundancy and what back-up equipment is needed
— dive planning and gas management

It combines perfectly with PADI Sidemount Diver course as the comfortable way to carry on an extra fully independent gas source.
