Having scuba tanks on your back isn’t a requirement for exploring the underwater world. Sidemount diving gives you flexibility and streamlining options. PADI Sidemount available on Koh Tao and Koh Samui!

This specialty course will introduce the new way of positioning your tanks – on the sides along your body. This concept has originated from cave diving where it is justified for going through narrow spaces, good accessibility of the vents and regulators, easier way of equipment transportation.
For open water dives sidemount has a lot of advantages as well.
Streamlined equipment- diver’s equipment is much better streamlined that reduces the drag and thus gives much more air economy.
Equipment transportation – the tanks may be easily attached to the harness right in the water and this is very important for the divers with limited abilities.
Increased gas supply – you normally carry two tanks and have the double supply from traditional configuration.
Safety – you have the access to both independent air sources (not even counting your buddy) and you can easily close any of those valves that in a very unlikely event may have any problems. Your both first stages are in front of your eyes and it means you can see if any problem occurs.
