On the one hand PADI Rescue Diver course is one of the most interesting PADI courses, on the other hand, it is very useful. The new skills are the search of a missing diver, dealing with panic and unresponsive divers both underwater and on the surface, mouth-to-mouth and mask –to –mouth resuscitation on the surface and much more! This course consists of theoretical and practical parts.

In the classroom:
You’ll watch the video for this course and learn the materials from the PADI Rescue Diver book. You will discuss all the key moments with your instructor and complete five knowledge reviews. This part is over when you pass the final test.
Practical part, confined water:
One day will be devoted to practice self-rescuing skills in the confined water. Starting from the simple self-rescuing skills from Open Water Diver course and moving to more complicated skills of managing emergencies.
Practical part, open water:
In very real open water situations you will practice previously learned skills.
You will know how to recognize and prevent emergencies and provide help to harmed diver.
Your practical session will be concluded by fulfilling so-called “rescue scenarios” when your instructor will be imitating different kinds of emergency situations and you will have to respond accordingly. After this course, you will definitely feel more confident and reliable diver capable of providing help to your fellow divers.

Course prerequisites:
- PADI Advanced Open Water Diver or analog
-Age – 15 
- Medical clearance
- valid EFR certification

Normally the course takes approximately two and half days.
Day 1
You meet your instructor at the time convenient for you to get the orientation on the course and do all the necessary paperwork. Then you start watching the beginning of the movie for PADI Rescue course. In the second part of this day, you will continue in confined water of up to approximately 16:00. You will be working on your self-rescuing skills.
Day 2
You start it again with watching the continuation of the movie. Then you go to the boat and practice the skills from the confined water part in the real sea conditions. You are back ashore at about 17:00.
Day 3
The final day of the course will be dedicated to “rescue scenarios”. Your instructor will imitate some emergency situations and it is your task to use your both theoretical and practical knowledge to respond to them. At about 17:00 the practical part is over and the only thing left to do is to complete your final test.
Further education
Your next step may be the certification of PADI Master Scuba Diver that is the highest rating of recreational diving or to become PADI professional and start your course of PADI Divemaster.
